Welcome to our new season.

After a rich history of ministry in the Forest that has had a global impact, Forest Baptist Church is embracing the new thing that God is doing.

Come and be part of it each Sunday

We gather from across Sydney’s Northern Beaches as a community of all ages each Sunday at 9:30 am. It’s a relaxed and fun environment that is accessible to all people, whether this is your first time as part of a church or you have been doing this your whole life! During the service, we spend time reflecting on the ways, works and words of Jesus, and there are times of singing and prayer.

There are activities specifically for kids, and ways that families can engage together too.

“Behold, I am doing a new thing!”

—Isaiah 43:19

Gathering around tables

When we aren’t in the church building, we gather around tables in homes, cafes, restaurants and parks. Church is a people, not a building, and so we encourage informal community to happen any time of the week. The table is a place of welcome, hospitality, and community. It is a centrepiece of Jesus’ own ministry, practiced throughout Christian history. We use the table as a metaphor and acronym to practice the way of Jesus together: Time Appreciation Blessing Listening Eating Sent.

Meet our new team.

For this new season, we have a new generation of leaders (both staff and volunteers) who are collectively discerning God’s heart for this community.

Jamie and Ainsley Freeman

Jamie comes to Forest Baptist after many years in church leadership and most recently, Associate Director at the Baptist Association. He is born and bread Northern Beaches, and loves to call this community home. Jamie is part-time, as he builds the team here and also continues in his leadership role as the Director of Mission and Church Development. He is passionate about Jesus, His church and how we can partner with God to see the flourishing of all things. Contact Jamie

Ainsley is on the Forest Baptist Leadership Council, alongside her other work as a Ministry Associate with Olive Tree Media. She is a writer and speaker but also spends a lot of time in marketing, communications and operations. At Forest, Ainsley heads up our Forest Kids Program and is part of the regular preaching team. Jamie and Ainsley have three primary school aged boys, who keep them very busy and thoroughly entertained.

Ways to Connect

If you’re interested in visiting or getting involved at Forest Baptist, here are some of the ways you can do that. We’d love to meet you! We understand stepping into a new church is a little daunting, but we are always happy to see new faces and let you simply explore what life and faith are all about.

  • Come along at 9.30am on a Sunday and join our public worship gathering. We sing, pray, read the Bible and connect over food and coffee. It’s open to anyone.

  • We love to eat together - so you can always join us at the table sometime. We meet in homes, cafes, and at the church building, but we know good community happens around the table.

  • Join us on Facebook, Instagram or get our prayer newsletter emailed to you.

  • We use What’s App to share news and updates with our community. If you gather with us on Sundays, be sure to join What’s App to keep up to date. Click to join.

  • As Baptist Church, members are a key part of discerning God's direction for Forest and being a part of seeing that vision become a reality.

How to find us

We’re located at: 617 Warringah Rd, Forestville

You’ve probably driven past our site many times. It’s on the main road, on your left as you’re heading toward the Roseville Bridge from the beaches.

Tips: Hop in the left lane and you’ll be able to turn straight into our carpark off Warringah Road. There are a few driveways, but pull in to the first one after our sign. Park anywhere on the grass (you should see other cars - just follow their lead).
